Privacy, plainly.

Five Pin is a 5-pin bowling scorekeeper made by Smoroden. It is designed to keep your games and stats useful without turning you into a data source.

The short version

Five Pin does not require an account, has no ads or tracking, does not sell personal information, and does not send data to servers.

Information stored on your device

Five Pin stores the information you create in the app, including player names, games, matches, scores, statistics, and settings. This data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Five Pin does not send data to servers.

Device backups and any syncing provided by Apple's operating system are controlled by your device and Apple account settings. Five Pin does not operate its own cloud database for this information.

Apple Music

If you enable the optional music feature and grant Apple Music permission, Five Pin can read the song currently playing and associate it with a throw. It may also request catalog artwork through MusicKit. Five Pin does not send this information to servers. Apple processes Apple Music requests under Apple's own privacy policy and terms.

Permissions

You can deny or revoke Apple Music access at any time in Settings. The core scorekeeping features continue to work without that optional permission.

Children's privacy

Five Pin does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else. Because the app does not require an account and does not send your scorekeeping data to us, there is no registration data for us to retain.

Changes to this policy

If the way Five Pin handles information changes, this page will be updated. The date of the latest version will be shown here.
